Abstract
The study investigated factors that influence the teaching performance of teachers of English in Ibiono Ibom secondary schools. The factors that were isolated for study were knowledge of the subject matter, in-service training, utilization of ICTs for teaching, and job satisfaction. The study was an ex-post factor design. Four research questions were posed and data were collected through two researcher-designed questionnaires. The data were analysed using simple percentages and charts. The result showed that while knowledge of the subject matter of Ibiono Ibom secondary school teachers of English Language seemed to have influenced their job performance, their use of the ICTs, in-service training and job satisfaction did not seem to influence their teaching performance.
